How about a silly title for an article? It is the Christmas season and I am not very big on it. Somewhere in the Bible Jesus said to celebrate His death, not His birth. I read that many years ago and have yet to do a search for it but it is there . . . someplace.
I go along, as far as necessary, with my family celebrating Christmas but I stay out of the main in doing so. I gift on other days and tel them this is there winter gift. If this sounds odd then you need to read my other blog. Yeah, I have a couple more besides these but each is pointing in a different direction than this one.
I relate this to you because of the Bible. What it tells us is not what some churches tell us. On the one hand it is straight from the mouths of the disciples and Jesus and God himself but the churches, over many decades or even centuries, have had their way with the Bible and departed from the rather tough stance the Bible takes as to how we behave, morally. If you look even briefly at the Jewish laws from God you will see that He was much more demanding of them and when Jesus came He changed much of that.
There is a story behind His changing these laws but He did the will of His Father in so doing. It appears that, once again, prophecy is on the horizon as we ply the waters of this world. Major change is in the offing and I think we all feel it but some don’t know the direction it is coming from. I think I do but only God knows for certain. He is still in charge you know? If you don’t then you are in for a world of hurt.
