Isn’t this the way politicians actually think? I remember the Jimmy Stewart movie, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” and that movie got it at least partially right. Once there he could not stand the corruption, Jimmy Stewart, that is. The character he played couldn’t either just so you know.
It is difficult to assess who or which party is more corrupt and it really falls on your preference to party. Republicans are corrupt. Democrats are corrupt. Truth is, I don’t know and you don’t know as the corruption is hidden away until you see a representatives stock portfolio. Pelosi? Possibly, but, who knows?
This is the crux of our problem as we, the public, cannot tell because they, the representatives, have the power to hide and hoodwink the public because they write the laws. This is why I put my faith in God and not in D.C.
I know what God does and He, in turn, knows what they do and Jesus is the final arbiter of good and evil. And, no, it is not so simple as detractors would say it is to put one’s faith in the invisible. It actually can take decades until that little verse in the Bible awakens one. Above all, the Bible tells us adamantly, put your whole faith in God and you will die having never been disappointed, except in mankind.
This is exactly where I am having served in combat and seen the best and worst of mankind. Pretty icky stuff to dream about, I might add.
